Bu nedenle gece 00:00 ile öğlen 12:00 arasındaki saatler için a.m., öğlen 12:00 ile gece
00:00 arasındaki saatler için p.m. kullanılır.

F 6:30 a.m. (sabah altı buçuk) F 3:30 p.m. (öğleden sonra üç buçuk)
F 9:45 a.m. (sabah dokuz kırk beş) F 9:00 p.m. (akşam dokuz)

Saatlerin önüne “at” edatı getirilir.
F at four o'clock, at half past nine A: What time do you get on the bus?
F at 9:00 a.m., at 6 p.m. B: I get on the bus at half past seven.
