“var(dır)” anlamına gelmektedir.
There are
Nesnelerin varlıklarından bahsederken kullanılır.
There is: Sayılamayan isimlerle veya sayılabilen tekil isimlerle kullanılır.
There are: Sayılabilen çoğul isimlerle kullanılır.

M EEamples:
→ There is a student in the class. (Sınıfta bir öğrenci var.)
→ There are students in the class. (Sınıfta öğrenciler var.)
There isn’t
“yok(tur)” anlamına gelmektedir.
There are’nt

M EEamples:
→ There isn’t a pencil in my pencil case. (Kalem kutumda bir kurşun kalem yok.)
→ There aren’t pencils in my pencil case. (Kalem kutumda kurşun kalemler yok.)

Is there ...?
“...........var mı?” anlamına gelen soru yapısıdır.
Are there ...?

Is there a computer in your room? Are there any books in your school bag?
(Odanda bir bilgisayar var mı?) (Çantanda hiç kitap var mı?)
- Yes, there is. (Evet, var.) - Yes, there are. (Evet, var.)
