EXPRESSING OBLIGATIONS AND PROHIBITIONS

MUST
“must” yapısını; güçlü bir zorunluluğu veya gerekliliği, görevleri ve çok güçlü tavsiyeleri
ifade etmek için kullanırız. Ayrıca kurallar ve talimatlar hakkında konuşurken de bu
yapıyı kullanırız.

“-meli / -malı” anlamındadır. “Must” yapısından sonra gelen fiil yalın hâldedir ve bütün
öznelerde “must” kullanılır.

→ I feel bad. I must go to the doctor. (Kendimi kötü hissediyorum. Doktora gitmeliyim.)

→ We must finish our science project until Monday. (Pazartesi gününe kadar bilim
projemizi bitirmeliyiz.)
