y Read the biography of Rene Descartes and answer the questions.
Rene Descartes was a famous philosopher and physicist. He was born on March 31, 1596
in France. He wrote books that are very important in the fields of maths, physics and
especially philosophy. His mother died one year after his birth. His father was a very
busy lawyer. He didn’t have much time for his children. Therefore, his
grandmother raised Rene, his brother and his sister. Descartes
finished his secondary education in 1614. Then, he spent many
years in Paris. He studied mathematics there. In 1616, he
began to study law at the University of Poitiers. He
moved to Netherlands in 1628. He completed his
education in Franeker and Leyden cities of Dutch.
He died on February 11, 1650 in Stockholm,
Sweden.
