* Rahatsızlık duyduğumuz, değişmesini istediğimiz durumlar hakkında dilekte bulunurken “wish”
yapısından sonra “would + Verb ” yapısını kullanırız.

œ Examples:

» My sister never asks for permission from me to take my clothes. I wish she wouldn’t take
them without asking.
» All my students are always late to class. I wish they would come to class on time.

y Temel cümle ile yan cümlenin öznesi aynı olduğunda "would" yapısı kullanılmaz. Bunun yerine
"The Simple Past Tense" ya da "could" yapısı kullanılır.

œ Examples:
» I wish I would have a lot of money. (False) » I wish I could have a lot of money. (True)
» I wish I had a lot of money. (True)

y “If only” yapısı “wish” yapısı ile aynı anlamdadır ve “wish” yapısının yerine kullanılabilir.

œ Examples:
» I wish you didn’t live so far away. / If only you didn’t live so far away.
» I wish you wouldn’t ask so many questions. / If only you wouldn’t ask so many questions.
