THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE
* Geçmişte içinde bulunduğumuz durumları veya geçmişte yapmış olduğumuz eylemleri anlatırken
“The Simple Past Tense (Geçmiş Zaman)” yapısını kullanırız.
* Bu zaman yapısında bahsedilen eylem belirli bir zamanda başlamış ve sona ermiştir.
* “The Simple Past Tense” yapısının cümle kurulumu durum cümleleri ve fiil cümlelerinde şu şekildedir:
The Simple Past Tense of The Verb "To Be"

* “The Simple Past Tense” ile kurulan durum cümlelerinde fiil bulunmaz ve "to be" fiilinin past
formu (Verb ) olan "was / were" yardımcı fiil olarak kullanılır.

Short Answers (Kısa Cevaplar)
Yes, I / he / she / it was. No, I / he / she / it wasn't.
Yes, you / we / they were. No, you / we / they weren't.

» Köroğlu and Kazılık Koca weren't coward legendary figures in the Turkish culture.

A: Was Nene Hatun a heroic woman in the Turkish history?
B: Yes, she was a heroic woman in the Turkish history. / Yes, she was.
