* "The Simple Past Tense" yapısı ile "Wh- questions" oluşturulurken "What, When, Which, What
time, Where, etc." soru kelimeleri cümle başına getirilir. Bu yapının yardımcı fiilleri olan "did" ve

"was/were" "Wh- questions"lardan sonra kullanılır.

œ Examples:
A: Where was Nasreddin Hodja born?
B: He was born in the district of Hortu, in Sivrihisar.

A: When did Nene Hatun die?

B: She died in 1955.
A: What did Dede Korkut tell people in the 15th century?
B: He told epic tales about heroism among the noble men and women of the Oghuz Turks.

TIME EXPRESSIONS IN THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE

* “The Simple Past Tense” yapısı ile birlikte sıklıkla kullanılan zaman ifadeleri şunlardır:
morning week
yesterday: dün yesterday afternoon last ... : geçen last month
evening year
night summer, winter, etc.

... ago: ... önce  two days ago, three weeks ago, four months ago, five years ago

when ... : ... -dığında / ... -ken → when I was a child / when her husband called her
