Noah tries to reach the ball, but he slips on a rock. He falls into the
water. He shouts, “Help! I can’t swim!” Liam sees Noah in trouble. He
feels scared but knows he must help. He finds a long stick and runs to
the lake. “Grab the stick!” Liam shouts.
Noah grabs the stick. Liam pulls him out of the water. Noah sits on
the grass. He is wet and shaking. “Thank you, Liam.” Noah says. “You
saved me.” Liam smiles and says, “You are my best friend. I will always
help you.” Noah looks at Liam and smiles back.
The next day, Noah knocks on Liam’s door. He holds a new soccer ball.
“This is for you.” Noah says. “Thank you for saving me.”
